The challenge
Wing Aero has supplied pilots and aviation professionals with training materials and resources since 1987, a family-owned business running about $170,000 in monthly card volume, much of it card-not-present on high-end corporate cards.
Their processor, Capital One and Worldpay, had let the effective rate creep past 4.4%. It is a familiar story: the largest processors quietly take as much as they can from small business owners.
The solution
We moved Wing Aero to true Interchange Plus, which is wholesale cost plus a fixed, transparent margin, cutting the effective rate to around 3%, and migrated them off Slim CD onto our no-cost ProCharge gateway.
Every customer and stored card-on-file came with them, so recurring charges never skipped a beat. The whole transition took barely a week.
Processing costs fell about $2,380 a month, roughly $28,560 a year they should never have lost, with a team reachable through the entire migration that resolved anything the same day.
